Saturday, February 21, 2009 three of us headed out to catch stage 7 of the Tour of California. This stage would bring riders into Pasadena. They’d have to cross the mountains between the high desert and the city to do it. We planned to watch them about two-thirds of the way on a small climb just past Big Tujunga Canyon on Angeles Forest Highway. When we arrived, about 3 hours before the first riders, we had the place to ourselves. Soon more spectators arrived, but it never got too crazy. And, besides one CHP motor officer, everyone was well behaved.
