We’d been as far east as Utah on road trips, so we thought we’d push on a little further. First stop was Panguitch, UT. This is quite a drive from home, about 3 hours past Vegas. We’d been here before, on Utah trips, so we knew what to expect. After pulling in we got some dinner and then hit the sack. The next day we did one of our favorites, Thunder Mountain trial just outside of Bryce Canyon.
From Panguitch we headed towards Crested Butte, CO by way of Fruita. We didn’t get a chance to ride here, but we knew we’d be back in ’07. Crested Butte is amazing. We had a blast. It was Fat Tire Bike Week, so the town was all about mountain biking. Road some great trails, including the 401, and met some great people.
From Crested Butte it was on to Durango. Wow, another great town. We got a couple of rides in, and some good food and beer.
Next was Flagstaff, AZ. We had hoped to ride here too, but there were quite a few fires going on, and all of the national forests were closed.
From here we shot for home. Two weeks of fun.
